It's all about Service
As a potential new customer you deserve the best possible service
However, to achieve the expected high standards we need your help. The key to producing quality branded merchandise is to start with a company logo in the format that is correct for the specific type of branding you require.
The majority of companies use either an external design/marketing agency or they have an in-house team responsible for corporate branding. These days a high percentage of artwork is created digitally. Its just a case of tracking down and using the right format.
You can break digital files down into two types of format, Bitmap and Vector.
Bitmap-based images are comprised of pixels in a grid. Each pixel or "bit" in the image contains information about the colour to be displayed. Bitmap images have a fixed resolution and cannot be resized without losing image quality. Common bitmap-based formats are JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, PICT, and BMP. Most bitmap images can be converted to other bitmap-based formats very easily. Bitmap images tend to have much large file sizes than vector graphics and they are often compressed to reduce their size.
Vector graphics are made up of many individual objects. Each of these objects can be defined by mathematical statements and has individual properties assigned to it such as colour, fill, and outline. Vector graphics are resolution independent because they can be output to the highest quality at any scale.
Common vector formats include AI (Adobe Illustrator), CDR (CorelDRAW), CGM (Computer Graphics Metafile), SWF (Shockwave Flash), and DXF (AutoCAD and other CAD software). Vector graphics tend to have much smaller file sizes than raster-based bitmaps.
Different types of processes require different types of formats. Here are some of the more common types of finishes that your banded merchandise could use:
Once you have selected your product, use the table above to help determine the file format that best suits your choice.
As a rule merchandise branding is best kept simple, avoid lots of colours, (unless you are printing a 4 colour image) its more expensive, takes longer to produce and harder get good results.
Software Here is a list of software packages that produce Bitmap and Vector files:
